Baby bird
0 Answers
There are two nests in my back yard in the same spot every year. The other day I found a baby bird on the ground, alive, unfeathered and unharmed (or so it appeared unharmed). Sadly I believed the myth that a mother will not continue to care for her young after contact with humans, so I placed it under a tree to die. The next day I went to check on it and it was still alive and obviously hungry. Determined to do something besides let it die I called the animal hospital and they told me to put it back in its nest, so I put it in the nest I believed it belonged in. Every day now I go check the ground hopeing that he hasnt been pushed out of his nest. If I did put it in the wrong nest, or if the mother just didnt want it, would it have been pushed back out by now, or would they have abandoned the nest? I am fearful that the bird is dead, but hopeful that he is not.
