Ugly Betty confusion

Last series, Ugly Betty was normally on E4 on a wednesday night, showing the following fridays episode that is on channel 4. So How come, the new series is due to start this friday, but last nights E4 episode, was the last one from last series, and not the first one from the new series?!!! Anyone know. I hope im making sense!

E4 are going to do their normal 1st look thing starting wed after c4 have shown the 1st one of the second season on friday.
Now I hope I'm making sense!
