Safestyle
Dont worry, I'm not naive enough to deal with these rabble but the people I bought my house off did. They had patio doors installed in 2003 which come with a 10 year guarantee.
One of the door hinges snapped and I phoned safestyle to see if I could get it fixed under warranty. The lady told me I'd have to pay 70 quid to transfer over the service contract as it wasnt it our names. I then asked if I could buy a hinge. She said I could. I posted off a cheque and they sent it back to say I'd been mis-informed. They wouldnt sell me a hinge and I'd have to pay 70 quid call-out and then the price of the hinge.
Looking on the net there are several UPVC hinges available but none to fit the doors Safestyle have supplied.
Are they able to hold the monopoly over spare parts? I'm sure BMW would sell me a car part if I fancied having a go at fitting it myself.
