Music Album Torrent - Help!

I've downloaded a torrent today that is made up of 16 tracks in MP3 format and a SkidVid MPEG movie file of a live concert. The files play OK on the computer using my default player, Yahoo Player.
What I'd like to do is to copy everything onto a CD that will play in a Hi-Fi or car, but I don't know if this is possible - I'm a complete novice at this.
To begin with, what would be the suitable software for copying the files off my PC onto disc and how would I use the software step by step? I assume I'd have to write the stuff to CD for it to be read by my HiFi but what about the MPEG. Should this be copied over to the CD too? Would it interfere with the music tracks playing as its a different format or would the HiFi ignore it when compiling the tracks?Can I copy the whole lot over onto a DVD and expect my HiFi to play the music tracks? I know my DVD player will play the MPEG if necessary.

Sorry there's so many questions but I really am new to all this!

Hi,
The program you will need is Nero or something like it to convert the mp3s into cda format and burn to disc. It's quite straight forward to use (drag & drop files into a window)and can be downloaded from here.

There is a very comprehensive online manual with it, but if you're having probs just post back here.
You will not need to put the mpeg onto the cd as your hifi won't recognise it anyway. You could just burn a separate data disc with the original mp3s and mpeg on for use in your computer.

I've got Nero Express 6 installed on my PC, but when I try to write the files it says it doesn't recognise them and I need to upgrade to a higher version just like the link you suggested.

I'm a bit reluctant to splash out on an upgrade at this time of the year. Is there any freeware out there that will do the job?

Could you confirm that if I do copy the MPEG onto the CD as well that it won't affect the playing of the music tracks? I was thinking that I could bung the same disc into my DVD player and play the MPEG and MP3 from there if I wanted.

If I can explain further what's happening with Nero express. I'm selecting to write from "Disk Image or Saved Project" as the files are on my hard drive.
Another window open in which I find the file compilation. It's blank at first as file types are set to "Nero Compilations". Choosing "All Files", bring up all the files including the MPEG. I then click on "Open" and a window opens saying "unexpected file format". This is followed by a window that says "compilation only useable with Nero burning ROM" and asks me to upgrade via their website.

Do I really have to upgrade?

Nope, you're selecting the wrong thing to begin with.
First choose your cd recorder from the drop down list ( you don't want it to show dvd-r if your drive is dual format type ). It should say something like image recorder CD-R /RW.
Next from the icons below choose music / audio cd and you will have a new window into which you drag & drop the files OR click Add and navigate to where your files are kept. When you've added all the tracks click next it will take you to final burn settings, check these are O.K. then pop in a CD and click Burn ( you can do a test first without burning if you want ). That's it really, good luck.

Thanks pug100. You've shown me where I went wrong.

I got impatient and went over to my neighbours who had a cracked copy of Nero 7 Essentials. Took a while to install and had to adjust a lot of fiddly settings but it burnt the disc like a dream.

The trouble is that the files were burnt in mp3 format although Nero said it would "convert them to play on any CD player". After the burn I discovered that the disc would only play in Yahoo Player. Windows Media Player just seizes up when I try to open the disc in it with no playlist showing.

Haven't tried the disc in a normal CD Player yet but if it doesn't work, it looks like I'll be seeking out a MP3 to a format playable on CD player converter. Is this the cda format you mentioned in your first post?

Yes, Nero will concvert to cda format during the burn process. cda is really just a wav file with a different file extention, much higher quality than mp3 as it is lossless.
