An idea for an advert

I have an idea for a television advert. Whats the best thing for me to do? Who would I approach first...the company I want to make it for or an advertising agency?

Ad agencies have creative teams who are given briefs to fullfil. They come up with ideas on a daily basis. It doesn't matter how great your idea is - if it doesn't fit where the brand is headed . . . .

I shall then "develop" it and if I make millions out of it I shall, in due course, invite you to my private island in the Caribbean for a celebration knees up.
