Can anyone tell me if Rod Stewart ever recorded a version of Frankie Miller's 1992 hit Caledonia, maybe as an album track?

According to allmusic.com, no.

However, it led me to discover that it was written by Dougie MacLean, and sparked a bit of interest in him and his music. [try googling him]

Excellent song by the way, and for those who don't know Frankie, this is your big chance to find out about a brilliant musician/songwriter/singer.
