Hi all, i am having connection problems with my pc , it disconnects for no reason when i am useing it sometimes after 30 mins or even 4 hrs there is no set time when this will happen. although the monitor icon on the tool bar shows i am still connected i cannot use anything online, the only way i can reset is to reboot including throwing the mains off as well just rebooting will not cure this problem, can anyone shed some light on this problem as its driving me nuts. regards moonraker

difficult to diagnose without testing the system but the problem could be a faulty modem or a faulty psu. If you can get hold of a spare of either then swap them over to test. Try the modem first then the psu. If the problem still occurs then you will probably need to have someone look at the system.

It could simply be your ISP doing it, especially if you�re using a dial-up connection. AOL did this to me frequently when I was using their dial-up ... the others are probably almost as bad. I didn�t put up with it for long!

thanks for your info about isp's i am with tiscali and i am hearing that more and more people are having or have had problems with their connection with tiscali so as i am happy with my system i will be now changing my isp asap. thanks to you both for your thoughts on this, regards moonraker.
