We've all seen them . The ads where you can tell they are dubbed - usually for cosmetics or air-fresheners ( the recent one where the " Modern Art " is replaced by a glass airfreshener and admired by a Jason Orange lookalike ). Is there an economic reason for making standardised ads and dubbing them into English?
I think it is so they don't have to remake the advert for every country that they want to show it in. They make one advert and then just dub it over with the language for the country that they show it in.
The thing that annoys me about it is there's no reason to have it so obviously dubbed! Almost all the spoken words are voice over, I just wander why they all weren't.
