sensodyne toothpaste

Is it possible/likely that your teeth become more sensitive from using sensodyne toothpaste?

it's supposed to do just the opposite. But I believe one (potential) side effect of aspirins is to cause headaches, so I suppose anything is possible

No Shivvy... I have found that (having used Sensodyne for the past 10 or so years) that I can almost crunch on ice cubes these days (joke !) It has however, certainly numbed my nerve endings and meant that I no longer leap up in the air when trying to eat nuts or chocolate...

Oops - I didn't explain myself very well.
What I meant to say was that although I never really had very sensitive teeth, I started using sensodyne for a while. When the tube ran out I went back to my ordinary toothpaste however some of my teeth feel very sensitive now.
Is it just coincidence?

shivvy my husband said that the only time his teeth have felt sensitive was after using sensodyne, so there may be something in it!

My hubby was advised to use it and now swears by it. As its ex[pensive, I buy a load when its on offer, usually at Boots

Eating is pretty miserable for me at the minute.

he stopped using it completely - we only had it because it was the best offer in the supermarket that week! I am not that brand loyal tbh - I buy whatever is on special offer!

I have noticed exactly the same thing. I regularly use Sensodyne but on rare occasions that I have not been able to get it and buy another toothpaste to use, I find that my teeth become sensitive after using the new toothpaste.

So is the answer to either a) sit tight and hope it will pass or b) go and buy a lifetimes supply of sensodyne?!
What the hell is in it that would actually make your teeth become sensitive after using it even if they weren't before?

shivvy, You might have a sinus infection. That makes your teeth feel sensitive. Try using a softer toothbrush,see if that helps. If not, see your dentist about it.
