I rented the Sopranos series 1 and thoroughly enjoyed it, but does anyone know the title and artist of the song at the opening - it starts off "woke up this morning"? Thanx

It's called 'Woke Up This Morning' and it's by a band called Alabama 3.

For the record, they are not from Alabam, and there are not three of them - they are from Brixton, and the floating line-up is usually around seven musicians.

they are excellent live - they turn the venue into a sort of grungy gris gris acid country r 'n' b beats gospel type event, and when it's over, they become sarf London lads again.

Wonderful.

The whole song - as you will hear - is wonderfully atmospheric - enjoy it.
