what is cillet bang

i've just been watching the telly and have been bamboosaled by the most recent ad. for a general cleaning product called cillet bang. where in the name of all thats holy have they come up with the name? what is a cillet????

What the f*** - I know it is the craziest thing I have seen on tv for a long time. I honestly think it is a cleaner and they are very poor and its a cheap crap ad.

I seriously thought this ad was a wind-up. Who is the presenter who introduces himself as if we should have heard of him anyway? Unless I've been under my rock too long o'course....

Hi!I'm actor Troy Maclure, you may remember me from such cleaning advertisments as: "Cillet Bang - Lethal on stains, Lethal on skin", and "Bleach!Its not for Kids!" Sorry...just watched a coupla episodes of the simpsons!Must admit though the advert does want to make be buy some, even if its just to see how much of my kitchen dissolves when I use it!

Well, I have just emailed my brother in Germany and he says it did not harm anything in the bathroom - including the limescale he was trying to get rid of. So maybe the marketing hype is better than the actual product.
