Hi guys. I have Windows XP ready installed and its Media version 2002. It came pre-installed and the Works Suite package uses something called Microsoft Works word Processor. I'm trying to get a job so sent out loads of C.V.s using this format (.wps). The ones who have bothered to reply can't open them and say I should use Word. It looks like I'll need to buy Works suite 2007 or something. Thing is, I have all the Discs for Works Suite 2000 which has Word, Money and Euro Route 2000.
Sorry to be long-drawn out but, if I install Works 2000, will it ruin the present Works Suite...Or are there any other ideas I could follow?
Thanks for any Help people.
If you open your CV file and then click on SAVE AS (not SAVE), what options are available to you ? You may need to save the file in a slightly different format so that everyone else and his brother (who are using Word, not Works) can read it....
reformat your CV in that word processor (called Writer) and it's fully compatible with other applications.
From the website: (Writer is...) a word processor similar in look and feel to Microsoft Word that offers a comparable range of functions and tools. It also includes the ability to export Portable Document Format (PDF) files with no additional software and can also function as a WYSIWYG (what you see is what you get) editor for creating and editing web pages.
I was trying the save as option but it wasn't saving as a .doc file. I'll try the other pdf thing guys...Didn't even occur to me. Thanks for the help. Cheers!
