Hi, i drive a 2001 renault clio 1.2 - i've had it nearly a year now and recently been suffering from the clio cutting out on me when pulling away from traffic lights etc. it has been to the garage 2 times now and i've spent 300 trying to get it fixed and nothing is sorting out the problem. does anyone have any advice on what to do?
Hi, go back to the garage with a witness & explain that the car is still not right after you have paid Ex to get it put right , depending how long it is since they have looked at it, ask to see the paper work on the work done but that should be on you receipt.
Hi TWR, they repaired it about 2 weeks ago, and then again a week before that. Its a Renault West garage, i dont know what the problem is. Is it worth me selling as it never seems to stop after its bee repaired. And is there garages that are interested in cars such as mine with the fault. other than that its a great car.
Christ Hanna that was Quick LOL, For a start I could not sell a car that I know had a fault it would have to be put right, The garage should be informed that the problem is still there & you expect it to be put right FOC. Do not be fobbed off by the people just stand your ground they have been paid to sort it, they have not so that's their duty to put it right. My PC Is still wobbling after your quick reply lol.
But i just cant be bothered with this hassle, they told me if the fault appeared again i would have to pay 250 for the parts alone.. without labour added on etc. Im at Sixth form i cannot afford all this lol, its a nightmare. So you reckon selling it is not a good idea, obviously letting the person know of the fault? thanks for your help btw
They cannot charge you twice for a job that was not put right in the first instance, If they start to give you Crp just advise that this problem will be taken to the Trading Standards this as a norm will get them moving but DO NOT pay any more money out, I cannot figure out why they said the costs for parts will cost you 250 for parts alone, I am not a Wizard but can you not smell something in that statement?
That's how garages work now, They diagnose a part is faulty, they fit new expensive one, that doesn't work, so they fit another different one, you keep paying.
