Bass drum technique
Not sure if this is the right section to ask this... I'm a drummer and have real trouble with proper bass drum technique. Is it generally best to have the bass drum pedal springs nice and tight or fairly loose? How do you know if you have the best angle for the beater? How long should you have the beater shaft??? I have recently bought a good quality DW pedal but I'm not getting the best out of it... This is the real weak spot in my playing. Any drummers out there can give me some advice?

The Editor Samantha is a fairly new player, so she can answer from experience, and if not, she has a raft of experts who will anser you.
