how much should i ask for ?
0 Answers
I'm working through an agency for an engineering company they design and make radiators and cooling solutions for vehicles anything from vintage astin martin radiators to military tank cooling systems.
I'm working as a quality control inspector and after 3 months they have decided to take me on (this is in addition to 8 months i worked for them previously through the same agency as a pressure tester).
on my application form it asks how much i want to be paid, I'm not sure what to put, I don't want to put down a silly amount either way. I'm basically training from scratch with them but they must think highly of me as they basically (well in their opinion) pulled a non qualified person off the street and are having me do the job of a quality control inspector because they think I have what it takes (based on their experience of when i worked for them previosly as a pressure tester).
As it happens i do speak/write Italian fluently and we do have Italian suppliers and I have a (albeit worthless) qualification in electronics with some mechanical background.
Thing is I have no idea how much a qc inspector earns I'd hate to put down like half they are willing to pay me and land myself with less in trying not to look greedy. (after living in Italy for 15 years and earning something like 3/h for a skilled job I'm pretty clueless, should have returned to the UK ages ago I've missed so much)
