warning about churchill insurance!
8 Answers
anybody who applied and took out car insurance with Churchill at the end of June will NOT currently be listed in the motor insurance database due to a computer error at Churchill! (which also means they have not sent any policy documents out) and they will not be fixing this until the 20th of july!
This puts all drivers effected at risk of being stopped by the police for no insurance, but Churchill seem to have decided that they are not going to inform effected customers about this problem!
So if you have taken out insurance at the end of last month with Churchill I suggest you contact them to check that you are insured and insist they resolve the problem ASAP and get your car listed on the MID and get a policy sent out to you!
(this is one of the worst cases of bad customer service I have come across for years!!)

Hi Chuck:
I'm not with them, thank God. But the only glimmer of "good news" would be that, if you were unfortunate enough to get pulled over by the Police, you'd have 7 days if required to produce your insurance at the nick.
A pain in the bum, I know, but still better than facing the possibility of getting "done" for no insurance, especially when it wasn't your fault in the first place.
I don't suppose it'll do Churchill a lot of good if this becomes common knowledge, but it would serve them right.

divlong,
I'd suggest checking that your car is listed on the motor insurance database, which is actually more important that having a physical bit of paper for your policy these days.
