Does anyone know why an ice cream with a Cadburys Flake is called a 99?

Any theories? Any ideas of your own?

Also, I remember the small flakes were called 99 Flake. Was there ever a TV advert for 99 Flake like the usual flake?

it cost 99p.
i was told its because a flake was 99 millimeters long
