Is there such a device that can tell you how much electric each of your electicity sockets is using? I've heard of one that can tell you this so that you know if any of your appliances aren't working properly therefore using too much electric, but I can't find one online.

All I can find is one that you plug into each socket one by one but that is not what i'm after. Thanks

I really think this is a non-starter. Sorry.
The devices you have found are quite useful but do exactly as you suggest - individual monitoring one-by-one.
To have a centrally-located device that monitors each socket is gonna involve some sort of sensing device on each socket - if you think about it, that's blindingly obvious - how else is the 'central monitor' going to know the split of current flowing in each of the circuits unless there is something close to each line to sense it?
Lastly there's no such thing as a device to tell you if a device is using too MUCH electricity - well there is - it's called the ON/OFF switch which one uses to turn off devices the kids inevitably leave on all over the house.
There are two different types of monitor on the market.
The first one plugs into a normal socket and then your appliance plug fits into that, this will give you the individual usage/cost of each appliance.
Or you can also buy another wireless monitor which attaches to your incoming mains feed, (in your electricity cupboard), and sends information wirelessly to a monitor elsewhere, this tells you how much electricity you are using at any time, so you can see how much electricity you save by, for example, turning off your tv, rather than leaving it on stand by.
Both of these products are available from most major supermarkets.
The wireless monitor that is connected to the mains tails that go into your cunsumer unit, they attach by clips, are in most local electric wholesalers for about £50 +vat....
