some years ago but cannot remember the title or artist. any thanks in advance.

I think the song is "Stop the Cavalry" by Jona Lewie 1980 Stiff Records. It's on the double Christmas tape/CD " The Best Christmas Album in the World...Ever!" Hope this helps. Handelann.
