Underground travel
I posted this question a while ago and for some reason it ended up under 'Adverts', no wonder I have had no response.
What I was asking was, in the new year I am travelling from Selby to Basingstoke by rail. I am travelling 'off-peak' and I have a Senior Railcard. The fare is going to be about £68 and I have to cross London to get to Waterloo from Kings Cross, this means using the underground and I am asking if my rail ticket includes the underground fare, or do I have to pay this separately.

If you have not booked yet,ask your booking offive for a through ticket,Selby~Basingstoke, which (for a small extra amount) WILL include the relevant tube ticket,(and return if required),but you must request the tube part when booking, otherwise it will not be included.
Although you will be paying for the tube ticket it should be cheaper than buying one on arrival in London, not to say more convenient too.

PS:~
This is from the Natinoal Rail Times/Fares Service:~
Travelling across London to connect with another National Rail service
If your journey involves travelling via London, you may find your ticket includes travel on London Underground, Docklands Light Railway or First Capital Connect's Thameslink route between London terminals at no additional cost.
You can 'break your journey' and leave the Underground service en route. However, you'll need to buy another ticket in order to continue your journey.
You can find out if travel across London is included in your ticket - simply look for a '†' symbol, which will be at the beginning of the tickets route information. e.g: [†Any Permitted].
Tickets displaying the 'cross-London' marker are valid for travel between any two stations shown in the Station List, as appropriate to the route of the through rail journey being made.

If you buy a THROUGH ticket that involves cross London travel it will always include the underground. If you split the journey (unwise - usually more expensive) then it won't - but buying Selby to Waterloo, Waterloo to Basingstoke will get you a slight reduction on Selby - KX, KX-Waterloo, Waterloo-Basingstoke.
And don't use thetrainline - they charge booking fees
Use http://www.eastcoast.co.uk/
They will have the same fares as thetrainline, charge no booking fee, and for some fares throw in an extra 10% discount

Thank you all for the answers, very helpful.
EDDIE51, I shall certainly consider what you have put, but I had priced for the 1.20 from Selby which is using the fantastic Hull Trains, which only take 2 hours to Kings Cross without changing, whereas the cheaper ones means a change at Leeds, but I shall have a good think about it as I haven't booked anything yet. Thanks again
