Dear All,
I have migrated the AnswerBank's #bbcqt chat to
http://www.theanswerbank.co.uk/News/Politics/
I thought it would be less in people's way here as "politics" is a little empty currently.
From the BBC:
"David Dimbleby will be joined in Belfast by Shaun Woodward, Gerry Kelly, Sammy Wilson, Lord Trimble and Jim Allister"
Topics for discussion tonight? I imagine Northern Ireland.
Shaun Woodward seems to be a slippery political character - having switched sides (to Labour) and then abandoned his seat for a safer one in 2001. While I realise this is quite normal in politics wouldn't you prefer your local MP to be "yours"?
Gerry Kelly is seen as a IRA link according to Wikipedia:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gerry_Kelly
Sammy Wilson seems to be an anti-environmentalism environment minister. He called the recent (heavy handed) CO2 ads an "insidious propaganda campaign."
Lord Trimble - Subject to some terrible political castration in Ireland as first minister.
Jim Allister - Summary of Wikipedia article: Politician-Solicitor-Politician.
