Coincidence????!!!!

We've all had this feeling... you know when you think of something randomly, e.g. hmmmm I havn't heard from bla bla in a while, and then 2 minutes later said bla bla phones you.... or you discover a new word that you don't know the meaning of (or maybe this is just me!! :P ) and then you find out the meaning and then you keep seeing this word popping up everywhere !! Or if you think of some random subject yourself and then you pick up a newspaper and there's an article about that exact random subject, or you switch on the telly and there's a show on about it..??? It always amazes me... :)

It amazes me everytime I get a new car.....loads of the same cars are everywhere. Didn't notice them before.

I often say to Mrs McM "Haven't had a call from anyone for ages". Then next thing I know the phone doesn't ring. It's amazing really.

how many times do you think of someone and they don't phone, or you see a word you don't know and never see it again....you don't register these events it is only when there is a reinforcement event you remember them,,,, Would you notice a telly programme about the life of birds for example if it is not something you'd normally view unless you'd seen some odd birds that day...the programme had been in the schedule for months it was only important to you at that point

Real coincidence... always took the same route home from work.every day.. journey time approx 45 mins one day for no reason took different more complicated route journey time double this. 3/4 way home came out of southfields underground station to find best friend upset waiting in car... he said he knew I was coming...

The last time I thought/spoke about someone I hadn't seen in yonks died two days later...!!

all my mates that have died, I have seen on the day they were suddenly taken after not having seen them for a while.

When my aunty died in a motorbike accident the rest of the family always made sure they always kissed goodbye.....just in case.

Not a brand new one....lol....after my last car has died a horrible death :-)

probably more than that. yer, its a very small town where everyone knows everyone so when things happen you're likely to have been quite close to them. But no family or best friends so I've coped. Just very young people which is always upsetting.

the only random part is your mind.

these things or "coincidences" are not coincidences they around and about all the time, we just don't hone in on them until .....we hone in on them as you have just demonstrated. its a bit like the news. one day somebody gets stabbed, the next thing you know there are 10 stabbings every day and they are all over the news. nothing in society has changed particular, just the focus of the journalists and media.

walk out tomorrow morning and say to yourself 'blimey you don't see many yellow cars about these days'. and lo and behold you'll spot a few. if you walk out of the house tomorrow and don't say this, you won't notice them - except by the power of a persuasive mind, i know that you will remind yourself and look for at least one yelllow car and you will remember this moment. and smile.

mcfluff i cannot mind-control opinion, just objectivity. a yellow car is a yellow car. a fit bloke to you might be anothers peter stringfellow.

i suppose if you see a male cyclist or a male jogger then my derrenbrownesque work is done.
