Peugeot 206 instruments

Please can you help advise me on an issue with my Peugeot 206 instrument pack(IP)? Some weeks ago both speedo and tacho failed so I sourced a replacement second hand IP which after I installed it worked fine both speedo and tacho now work and all the other gauges, however the odo does not show anything, no mileage at all. I contacted the dealer who recommended the car be put through a full diagnostic and they would try to sync the IP with the ECU, he also said there would be no guarantee of success and it would cost £80. The car has low mileage and this is worth around £200-300, without an odo display it would hard to prove the mileage, so what should I do?

If you want any chance of selling the car for what its worth, get the odometer to read the correct mileage.

Agree with Skids, cant see anybody buying a car with a defunkt odometer, I know I wouldnt.
