I have seen Costcutter as the answer to no. 54, Chancellor of the Exchequer could someone explain why this is the answer as I can't work it out?

For more on marking an answer as the "Best Answer", please visit our FAQ.It seems to have escaped your attention that the coalition Government (and the Chancellor of the Exchequer in particular) are currently slashing public expenditure, in order to try to get the UK back onto a sound financial footing. (It's only been on nearly every news bulletin since the General Election, so it would be easy to miss, wouldn't it?)
Hence the Chancellor is definitely trying to cut costs. i.e. He's a cost cutter.
