Who knows why any ad campaign ends up as the finished article, it's ultimately just someone's idea.

When that partcular campaign started, the storyline was that there were these pandas in a zoo who were fed up of eating nothing but bamboo, so one of them sneaked into the keeper's hut to scoff his chicken tonight. The adverts have now changed but the panda theme is still there.
