Melanie Sykes says in the advert, 'dark eyes, lucky us'. Why are dark eyes lucky?

they're not, not as far as I know.  just fits in with the advert.  If she had blue eyes then she would have said that.

Aren't men supposed to find dark eyes more alluring and mysterious? So by saying 'lucky us' its because she can attract more men? Would also explain why the classic smoky eyeshadow never fails!!

She has nice dark eyes and is referring to the fact that she was lucky to inherit them

Yeah, theres lots of positive things relating to women with dark eyes. Its supposed to make women look more sultry and seductive (hense why Britney Spears has over killed that same image in virtually all her videos).

And also, like Morrisonker said, it fits in with advert since shes the model and has dark eyes.

the pigment of the iris in known to act as natural sunglasses. those with lighter coloured eyes find it harder to cope in very bright lighting. this is an evolutonary thing. these go hand in hand with other adaptations. i myself a black male born in this country, with both my parents from barbados. but black peoples nostrils are bigger to allow a higher intake of oxygen in the hot humid conditions we are indigioues to. and the colour of our skin is due to pigment meline (that isnt how its spelt but i cant bothered with looking it up hehe) but this protects our skin from uv rays. look at the skin cancer figures from whites then blacks.
