I'd suggest a trip to the vets would be best.
Definitely a trip to the vets. Ask if they have someone with special knowledge about brids. It is a specialised field. Don't leave it, birds can deteriorate very rapidly.

Hope 'Pinky' is OK Carlton. I believe that is what you said she was called.
I'm afraid I don't know much about birds, carlton, but I know that some need their beaks trimming from time to time.
She could have been preening and a feather might be stuck in her throat. I have known in happen.
I am a carnivore type of girl and don't know much about birds - but aren't they prone to breathing type problems? Phone your vet.
Yes they are Wolf.

Thanks all.
Loftylottie, yes thats her. do you think she will cough it up?
Carlton, can you ring the vets now? You might get advice over the phone, before they close for the holidays - and they probably have an emergency arrangement anyway. I wouldn't wait any longer, you need vet advice - birds are very little and as lottie says, can decline very quickly if things aren't right. Don't reply, just phone 'em!
Hiya carlton, she's not regurgitating seed, is she? Birds sometimes do this when the desire to mate is strong. I saw it happen when I kept budgies.

mrs chappie, I hope you are right, and I am waiting for a reply from the vet.
I hope so too, carlton. It's not unusual for birds to do this, so hopefully it'll turn out nothing to worry about.

Do you think she will look like this if she mates?
Is this you trying to say that she isn't a nice little parakeet but something looking like a bald vulture?

I hope she is okay - any time one of my cats is ill I go into total panic mode. It's because you love her and are worried about her.

She is moulting, so I think she may well have got some `down` down her throat, and I am still waiting for a vet to reply.
Those chicks do look funny, don't they...ugly but in a cute way. :o)

Relief, my O/H has been keeping an eye on her for the last hour and says she appears to be ok now as she is pecking at her honey bar having just flown back into her cage after being out all day up on the wall unit in the shade, as she hates the sunlight. I think she may be a vampire really.
Glad to hear it carlton. x
Is she regurgitating to feed you, in the absence of chix ?
Hi not long read your question under my SS post. I have replied there.
I used to know a lady who had a parakeet called arthur..she told us one day that arthur was acting a bit strange and she was worried about him..after a few days I asked how arthur was and she said "arthurs OK now he laid an egg"
