Hi had a pugnosed persian a few years ago and I found it easier to groom her daily, that way she was free from matts and she enjoyed the attention, if they are not groomed regularily then they can dilike it and the matts then become hard to remove, also it will take longer to groom. So I suggest you do it daily aliitle at a time untill he/she becomes to enjoy it. WHF
I used to have to groom Rover every day, he had a very thick and loose undercoat and shedded everywhere. The other two get done about once a week - Black Spot is longhaired and brings half the garden in with him.
As often as you can they love it! Also theres some packets of 'Fur Ball' control treats that they sell in Jollys & other big pet stores that you give to them 2 every other day & they are good. Sorry i can't remember the name.
My old cat was a longhair and he used to lie in the garden all day and then come in with god knows what in his fur. On at least 2 occasions I found a worm and a slug crawling through his locks :)
I had a quick look on before I posted and took the advice of you all.
I now have a lovely shiny tabby purring in my ear,he is a hard cat to keep still so I waited until he was having a munch.Worked a treat although he would only allow me to do his back.
He is about to have to get used to it, as I will be grooming him daily from now on :0)
