She makes grumbling sounds, not growls, when she has 'seen off' an invader from her seat by the window. So funny.

Mine grumbles when she is sleeping on our bed and I dare to get in bed at night. Definitely grumbles and not growls!!!!

One of mine makes a grumbling noise, but we call it moaning. He usually does it when I'm making him have a bath or when he's had quite enough grooming, thank you. He also makes his grumbling noise when my husband decides that he's had quite enough of the dog nibbling on his beard but the dog thinks differently. They are funny creatures.

My first cat adopted me when he was pretty old - he used to stomp around the flat muttering to himself. He was just a grumpy old man. He was sort of like my grumpy old dad. I miss both of them. :-)

Never seen a cat stomping Wolf! Our old one used to look like he'd sucked a lemon when we came back from holidays though!

Merlin (my avatars sister) has huge paws and is curvaceous and also stupid. When Frankie walks up my bed he does so like a finely tuned hunting machine. Merlin seems to wear clumpy boots and she walks right over me and over my hair on the pillow. When she goes down stairs she just throws herself off the top landing - more like a suicide bid than a controlled decent.

Neither of my two dogs snored - but they had some fun sounding dreams.

I had better go to bed - the duo are staring at me. We toddle off up to my/our/their bed like a little lion pride. :-)

oh what I would give to have a cat on the bed again, but little miss prissy paws won't consider it! Probably because we have mr fidget bum stinky breath on there most nights!
Sorry annemolie, hijacking your thread, our dog did an extended grumble the other morning because he heard a sound out the front of the house, I wondered if he was ever going to draw breath!

Wolf, Merlin sounds just like my cat Alice. You can hear her coming a mile off, nothing dainty about her at all - a walking disaster - and yes she stomps all over us in the night - including our faces and she head buts with real force. She's lovely though, a real character!!

Our Wolfies will grumble at each other, especially if one has had something that the other want, its a really deep down grumble from the depths of the cavern lol but they all love each other really.

Lovely aren't they. Such characters. Megs also has a way of waking you up in the morning by not so much grumbling but by a sort of humming noise from the back of her throat which is very quiet. She sort of realises that if she makes too much noise at us whilst we are asleep she won't be popular, but this sound carries on and on until one of us gets up and lets her out.

We have very talkative cat and dog Trigs. The dog comes and complains to us when the cat is annoying her as well - and the cat teases the dog very often!

I hate cats with a vengeance this morning - one in particular.

Rotties are beautiful dogs and so are bull-mastiffs - I like a dog you can cuddle. :-)

My lovely fella (dog) doesn't grumble, but when we're going out for a walk and he gets excited, he makes a funny noise sort of like a whoo whoo and very high pitched and he's a big dog, it sounds so funny and cute and always akes me laugh !
