What is so lovely is that you all seem to have dogs with great character! They are all gorgeous!!
I remember when we took Gilligan (my hearthound, then aged only 14 weeks) to a dog show. I was showing Merlin and Gilly was ... well, not exactly impressed, as this photo shows.

You'd never think that this little puppy would end up standing arou 6"5' on his hind legs, lol! This was my Gilly about over a year ago and he has since grown some more:

My avatar shows Gilly this year. He is the most gentle, affectionate giant on the planet!

Ratter I got my dog from the RSPCA and he had a face and coat like some of your dogs. Have you any idea what type he was? Would you take a look for me please, I always thought he had some Irish terrier in him.

have really wanted to show Callie to you all, but just can't do it!......have tried tinypics, just won't work!.....think something wrong with my laptop since I installed the latest IE, was fine before that!........so annoying!...........will try to get it sorted, so want you all to see her!......She's stunning!....
Carakeel I would dearly love to give him a hug but he died in September two years ago. I got him when he was 13 years old and just had a leg amputated (him not me). I knew I wouldn't have him for long but he lasted 3 years and he adored me:-) I'd love to know what breed he was but I don't care if he was just a mutley. A couple of people suggested Wheaten Terrier but I don't think he was smart enough. ie too scruffy (which I loved).
Trish and I both come from a families that have always had dogs and it's really great to see that other families are just as daft about their dogs as we are. It's great when you look at the photos posted and know that you're not the only one whose furry friend is not just an animal but part of the family
Ladybirder, I would love to be able to tell you what breeds he descended from, unfortunately I have no idea, a bit of a Heinz 57 I think, you could be right with the Irish terrier in there somewhere but very difficult to say with any certainty.
Either way, im sure he was a great companion and you loved him dearly, he certainly looks like a great character! :-)
