Help with cat's disgusting breath, please !
I lover her to bits but my 5 year old's cat's breath is foul ! She was a stray but I know her history (from her chip) and no related problems there. The vet said her teeth are absolutely fine when I took her for jabs.
She has wet food and a few biscuits, as well as a couple of so-called "fresh breath" treats (which she loves !) and a tablet (taken very reluctantly, dissolved in her food) every day. I did sprinkle one of her meals with granulated charcoal for a while but was so fiddly with no improvement, I stopped.
Perhaps I should try that again ?

boxtops - not prescription, just a breath freshener tablet fr cats and dogs I happened to see on a site when I was looking for vitamin supplements for me. Contains peppermint herb powder, peppermint oil and menthol amongst a few other things.

ladybirder, that WAS interesting, if a bit worrying.
billandhiscat, take your point but giving her raw meat isn't going to happen. As a vegetarian, I'll bite the bullet and feed her canned and pouched meat, but couldn't bear to have raw stuff in the fridge or freezer.
notasyoungasiwas, that WAS what I'd typed *doh*

Have you tried garlic capsules? I used to use it on one of my dogs to help keep fleas away, but I also found that it helped her awful breath. Bad breath can be as much about the digestion as the teeth and I'm told garlic helps the former.
I'm not entirely sure if it's OK for cats though, so do check first.
