It was difficult for the first week or so because my body was so addicted to carbs, but became easier and easier. I was never hungry and once I got over my craving for carbs (chocolate was my particular obsession) I found it easy to follow. My sister (morbidly obese with diagnosis of type 2 diabetes) has lost 100lbs in about 18 months. She is still losing and we've both stuck to the diet because we feel and are so much healthier. By the way, a good snack for the "chocolate obsessed" is 1 teaspoon cocoa powder, 1 teaspoon sweetner blended with 50 ml double cream - delicious and totally fine on a low carb/high fat diet. Topkat. Thank you for yours and your sisters story. WOW you both did amazing. I'd love hubby to slim down, he is fit as a fiddle for now but I know it wont last. I'll read the other stories on the link you sent me tomorrow as I cant stay on here long tonight. We have started it now, well sort of as I'm using up whats in the cupboards as I hate to waste food. I've just done 'big shop' today and bought all the wright stuff ha ha. Thank you again..
I've been living the low carb high fat way for over a year. I too was a terrible carb addict, and due to 'things' happening in my life,it was getting worse-I ate a bit of 'real' food just so I could reward myself with cookies, cake, pasta, potatoes, bread. I had to do something. I didn't have a lot to lose, but 22lbs came off pretty easily. I started in Feb of last year...and I've been maintaining since last May. I'm now at the weight I was before my daughter was born 26 years ago. I'm rarely hungry, and don't get the low blood sugar attacks that I used to. I also indulge-a lot- in dark chocolate.
Here is a good list of low carb blogs-lots of info to be read ;-)

Pastafreak thank you for your story and that link I'll have a good read of that. Your story is what I'm hoping for for Mr a. I only need to lose a stone but I've tried everything, so maybe this time. I spent most of my Adult life trying to fatten myself up as I was always under weight, I never dreamed I'd ever even be reading about diets let alone be on one. Mr a is another story hes a proper little fat fellow ha ha. If hes not hungry he should stick to this diet. Thank you again.
I am a healthy person who in general eats well and exercises regularly - this keeps me slim. I felt though I had got into some bad habits and was advised by a personal trainer at the gym to cut out bad carbs for a week - i did this, but was still eating plenty protien, fruit and veg (not high fat though) and lost 2lbs and 1 inch off hips and almost 2 at stomach. it was not a 'diet' as such but has just alerted me to be eating a bit more healthy and realising that I don't need to have carbs with every meal - please note that I do still have them though, is not a total ban.
sherraz it is a bit. I cant put links up (coz am daft) but google it.
As I've lost nothing I am cutting down my fat intake. My B.M.I. is normal so may be that's why I've lost nothing.
My hubby has lost 7lb he is also 4 stone over weight.
Have a good read up on it, you can eat loads it states that you'll never be hungry.
