Rabbit won't eat his greens

My male rabbit had his front teeth removed for health reasons in March and since then he will only eat his rabbit museli and the odd rabbit chocolate treat.
Hes never been a fan of eating hay, I put it in his hutch more for bedding purposes. The vet said to give him soft greens like cucumber but he won't eat it. He's obviously healthy and could poop for britain, but I would like him to eat some vegetation. Has anyone else had similar trouble with a rabbit? Has anyone got ideas for something I could try to give him that he might like?

Proved his food is a good quality mix then he should get most of what he needs from it. Does he eat grass if you let him out? Try some lettuce - round lettuce or Cos seem to be more inviting than the iceberg.

No he doesn't eat grass either, he's mainly a house rabbit but on nice days I put him in the run outside and I've never seen him eat the grass. I thought lettuce was bad for rabbits, I was told it gives them diarrhoea.

Nope I've even brought grass in from outside and he doesn't touch it. Fussy Bunny!

maybe he just doesn't like it that much. If he is happy, healthy and maintaining his weight then i wouldn't worry.

swiper - I know nothing about rabbits, but your question brings up bad memories of being forced to eat my vegetables and other things that were meant to be good for me when I was a child. I still can't eat lentils and a few other things.

I empathise with bunny - but if he is healthy it is probably not worth the grief. I hope that he has a long and happy bunny life.

Have you tried him with tasty stuff like dandelion leaves?

A small amount of lettuce will not hurt him but it does contain a soporific which is not good for rabbits.

It won't be easy for it to eat vegetation without the front chompers. He won't have any way of cutting the food into chewable pieces.

It will do just fine on the rabbit muesli with the odd appropriate treat. Never let it run out of water when it is on dry food.

If you do try him on lettuce, make sure that it is dry - My cousin killed (accidentally!) my rabbit by feeding it wet lettuce!
