Ginger Cats

Ok this should go in Animals and Nature but since most people gather here I'll ask it here.
I have noticed that with both my present and late ginger cats, they are obsessed with food, you open a can, foil tray or rattle a bowl or even set foot in the kitchen. Is it just a ginger cat thing or what as I have never seen my other cats like this or any other cat?

Face it kiddo. Any ginger cat living in this house isn't truly a cat. More of a stomach on 4 paws using a cat as a life support system! Molly, my cat, getting on, entitled to grumps!

No, i had a ginger cat.He was a beautiful cat but no matter what i offered him he would eat very little at a time. When i bought those square metal trays of food for him, i would be really pleased if he even ate half of it at a time. He was like this with all food.
My friend with a black and white cat said hers often used to miaow for food and gobble it straight up.I often wished mine would have done.

A general cat thing I think. It freaks me out the way they can just appear as if they have teleported or something! Similar with disappearing though.
Mish claws up the little mat under her foodbowls and just keeps pulling it up and up so it makes a racket to make her point.
Her other cunning trick is to be so under my feet that I am likely to trip over her at some point, feel bad and end up feeding her to apologise...hmmm...
