You will certainly know when she's in heat (a.k.a. estrus) because she'll be very talkative, restless and affectionate. As for if she is pregnant - this is much harder to spot. Her behaviour won't alter much until the final week when she starts to prepare a place where she's comfortable giving birth. (Pregnancy usually takes around 65 days).

However.... Spaying will take away the doubt and is recommended by all cat organisations unless you are intent on breeding. It's easier on the cat as well as humans!
