Hi everyone... took our boy to the vets on Friday night... he'd been vomiting a bit..and retching/urging .. during the afternoon..it stoped...until 7 ish... but got really bad again..so as I said.. took him to the vet.. who gave him a really good check all over.. found nothing wrong... gave him an anti - vomiting injection..and said keep an eye.. bring him back if it worsens.. etc... well he's got better and better each day... now is back to his normal grumpy self..lol... but had lost his meow!!! Do you think he may have a sore throat from all the vomiting.. retching etc?? awww poor puss... Mrs C xx
cat's can get tonsilitis the same as humans. My previous cat lost his meow after getting tonsilitis. He had a rather pathetic meow after that. He never fully recovered his voice I'm afraid to say.
Our cat lost his meow after being hit with a car on the main road. It never returned, we put it down to post traumatic stress or something!! He still seemed like a happy cat and lived 5 years after the accident in good physical health!!
Hope your young lad feels better soon and can start screaming at you and bossing you around.
Young Francis screamed all the way to the vet and home again on Friday - he was shaking too much to meow properly whilst in he surgery. Brave he is not.
Ta Jd .. Wolf..and lady... I think he's ok.. lol.. still no meow.. but.. I cooked a joint of ham earlier.. and he's forced himself to eat most of that... just to keep me happy..of course!! lol...he's now..on his been bag... all four feet in the air.. smiling!! tut.. xx Mrs Crisper x
My cat only started purring at the age of ten. She was a foundling who had obviously been beaten and maltreated horribly. I'm sure your kitty's meow will come back x
It really is strange tony. You pick up a cat and put it over your shoulder and stroke it and expect that big engine purr to kick in and it doesn't. I don't expect her to start again now:-(
