Re My Sick Dog Again

Just your opinion - as you know Harv has tumour in the thyroid but with the painkillers - he is back to true form - now I don't know about tumours in animals but if it continues to spread across the throat and maybe cannot eat or drink etc - will have to make a decision - hopefully not for a while yet.

I was to go back to vets two Fridays ago and never bothered as my decision had been made - never heard from them again re appointment. Anyway I am still paying insurance for him - shall I cancel it or keep it up - hope the vet is not still charging my insurance for work he is not doing or going to do. tia

can your vet just charge your insurance company directly without your permission? Mine cannot. I would talk to your vet about what treatment might be helpful to your dog for the future in terms of keeping him happy and comfortable, also to your insurers about what will be covered in the circs.

Because I am not great on the phone I gave my details to vet's receptionist who rang my insurance company to confirm that they (insurnce) would cover ie the biopsies etc - they have all my info.

Tony what would I be asking vet for when in a way I have made the one decision from the 5 options he gave me and vague on it too.

You could ask the vet to re -explain the 5 options again for you, Conne.

Conne "vague" is why you need to have a non vague, factual discussion. If the vet is claiming for work he has not done, then that is fraud, I am sure that any good vet would not do that.

thanks tony I know the 5 options off by heart but think you are right maybe make an appointment to see him again regarding keeping him comfortable to the end. God bless him (dog) he is great but the lump is there - so wish it wasn't.

in a way you are right woofie but I truly believe vets are very much into making money. When I initially was in tiny reception - the receptionist asked me how much was the excess which of course I didn't know - the vet shouted from the back "busy with another dog" it is £60.
