My shih-Tzu has been put on furosemide. The vet says it's a low dose. That was last Thursday.

On Tuesday night she had a funny turn in the night and weed and last night she gave no warning, she just weed and soaked herself. I don't think she knew it was going to happen.

I know the tablets are there to remove any fluid but my problem is that she wont sleep in her own bed but sleeps on mine. She is 13 1/2yrs old .

I have put protectors on my bed but still have to wash the top cover and this morning I had to bathe her as well at 7 am.

Has anyone else had to deal with this? She is on heart meds as well.

This may sound daft but is there a chance she would keep a nappy on ? Worth a try.

She has half tab morning and evening. I have just bought a bed protector but i have also just found some pullups left over from my grand daughter. They are a big so i gave sewn the sides.I will give it a go tonight
you can buy a sanitary belt type knicker thing in pets at home that you put a pad in for dogs on heat to wear , i bought one of these for my old dog that had bladder problems and just bought supermarket own cheap sanitary pads to use with it
I take furosemide, as Sqad says it would be best to give it to her first thing in the morning. After her initial lots of "wees" things should settle down and she ought to be ok at bedtime - if it works like it does on me she'll be fine by early afternoon

nungate as I said before she has to have it twice a day so one dose has to be at night.
Well the pullup I had wouldn't stay on although she was happy wearing it.
We had a dry night last night for some reason but just encase I have bought some babies nappies and cut a hole for her tail. Just tried one on her and I think it should do the job should we have an accident.
I did look on Youtube and didn't realise that people use them for dogs on heat. Mine only had one season before she was spayed.
