Nope, 'fraid not, but it goes to show honesty does pay, he's made that and more from it. Good for him!

I like to think I'd have done the decent thing, but I'm not sure I would have done.
It does restore your faith in human nature.
In my current situation I would yes but not sure if I was homeless.
I have found 4 purses/wallets in my time and always got them back to their owner.

One time I found a wallet and it had money and cards in my name (same spelling). That was a bit freaky!

Ah ok, I didn't see it.

When I was about 14 I found a wallet on a bus. I kept the money ( a single £1 note) and left the wallet lying on the seat where I'd found it.

I felt bad about doing it as soon as I'd got off the bus, and have done ever since. I wouldn't dream of not returning anything I found nowadays.
Yes, I would. Twice I have had my bag handed in or returned to me and so very grateful. Taking what is not yours is stealing and this goes to show that the homeless aren't thieves.
Yes I would - but I would not say no to any reward
i probably wouldn't if i was homeless, not that much money.

but in the past i have kept a couple of purses and a bag etc that i've found - and i feel bad about it - i wish i had handed them in now, and i would certainly hand personal possessions in.
i was young and skint though, i suppose i think i felt i couldn't hand them in if i was keeping the cash (not much) as they'd know i'd took it.
sad really but when you're a teenager etc you don't always think things through.

i think if they'd had very personal treasured possessions in i'd have probably handed them in, but it was just general stuff as i recall
"cash and travelers cheques" how much cash?

If the majority was travelers cheques and very little cash, then I would hand it in, because, the travelers cheques would be useless.

Now, if the majority was cash....NO I would not hand it in.

Which was it do you think?

we shouldn't judge others by our own tawdry standards
I would have handed it in.
trigger.......just want the facts...........it does make a difference to my answer.

So, trigger my mate........what is the answer to my question?
I probably would hand it in well I like to think I would anyway!!
If name and address were in bag, I would have contacted the owner, or handed it into the Police. That's a lot of money/travellers cheques to lose.
I would hand it into the police ~ do unto others.
