No question, just wanted to say Larry the rescue rat has found a home with us. His is a handsome fellow. I will endeavour to pop some pictures up soon!
Ahhh, I love pet rats, very very clever and great sociable little things. Mine used to sit on my shoulder twizzling Maltezers round in his little hands nibbling the chocolate off 'em.
Lucky Larry, I'm sure he will have a lovely life with you. I'd love to see some pictures too. What colour is he? I have 4 boys at the moment and they are very loving.
My lads are spoilt rotten but sadly not all little ratties find themselves so fortunate, luckily there are places that rescue them and lovely people like flump who will take them on.
Pet rat or wild, they are all technically the "Brown Rat" (Rattus norvegicus) despite their differing colours and hated by nearly all . I used to keep them myself many moons ago, I love all rats, wild or domesticated.
They're surprisingly affectionate and incredibly nosy too aren't they?
I've given up recommending rats as pets for people's children who want something "small and furry" as I got tired of 'em recoiling in horror at the thought of them :-(
