Whilst playing with Tilly, out in the sunshine, today, I noticed that she has a ring of hairloss on her side. It's not a patch but a circumference of a circle. She's going to the vets tomorrow but does anyone have an idea what it might be?
I have googled ringworm but that appears to be red scaley patches, not a circumference of hairloss.

I would have guessed Ringworm too.

I do hope that it is nothing that is going to spread. A lady should not have to suffer from bald spots.

I did read that ringworm is highly contagious. If it is ringworm, I'm in trouble as well, wolf!
Yes, I think that vets will be used to dogs with Ringworm and they should be able to tell you what to do.

Have fun at the vet, I hope Tilly doesn't mind going. Last time I was there a Lab puppy was so excited and happy when the vet called them into the exam room. It was sweet!
Ringworm, get it diagnosed from the vets then get yourself along to the chemist for your medicine.

She will be fine at the vets, Wolf, until she has to go into the consulting room. She then goes rigid and turns into a dog statue. I just pick her up and plonk her on the consulting table and she doesn't move a muscle.

I do hope it is not ringworm.

She hasn't had anything like a vaccination there has she, for it to be some kind of reaction.

Thanks, Islay and Eve. She had the new leptospirosis jab recently but that was in the back of her neck, not on her side.

Update......bacterial infection causing hair loss. Not ringworm, thank goodness. A course of antibiotics to clear it up. Phew!
Good news, thanks Tilly
Glad that it wasn't ringworm - coz you would have it now too.

I have been home for two hours and my kitties are still upstairs snoozing. It is nice to be greeted at the door by a loving and loyal pet, I will see them soon though - dinner time !

I think dogs are a bit more welcoming than your cats, Wolf.

I'm surprised that they, your cats, don't come and say hello, though.
Pleased to hear that Tilly

My cats snub me when I get home but the dogs jump all over me!!
One of us was in a dodgy mood this morning - I am blaming my 'girl' hormones.

Both of my dogs would meet me at the door and be so pleased to see me. Maybe, one day, I will get another one. Big Hairy German (GSD) would be brilliant.

It must be a cat thing then, Islay. I had no idea, never having had a cat.

Wolf, big, hairy GSD's need a lot of exercise......get some walking shoes first. :-)
Cats are very different to dogs

My first dog was a Bullmastiff/GSD and the second a Lab/GSD. I live in a second floor city centre flat so for the immediate future there will be no dog in my life.

I am going upstairs to annoy the cats - I need a snooze.

:-)

Aw, Sibs, just spotted you there. It is good news, I was having imaginary itches. :-(
