Maxie (Shots)

As some of you know Maxie had kennel cough and is great now with the help of antibiotics and inflammatories.

I need to update his kennel cough and parvo - so would anybody know how long should I wait.

that's difficult as it is hard to talk to them via receptionist but I'll give it a go tomorrow.

My vet wouldn't give my last dog his shots until his current medication had finished.

yes the medication is probably finished 3 weeks now

They may well do it then JJ but I'm wondering if they are restricted to emergencies?

you are probably right re the emergency as they took Maxie within 8 hours of phoning, I couldn't have coped with any longer - it was just awful. I'll let you know tomorrow.

Vets do not come under the present restrictions, recently had mine inoculated and one of them had their teeth cleaned. You cannot go in with them and the vet will come out to fetch the dog. We all wear masks outside the vets surgery.

haven't rung yet but last time Riptide - vet did come outside but I had to go in with Maxie, but I'm hoping they will take him on his own cos I had a terrible time holding him that I ripped the muscles in my good shoulder. I;m sure you know anyway that kennel cough is given up the nose.

I coulda roared/laughed at my sister who said when he was sick last time, you should always take his temperature - aye said I would you like a stick going up your backside.

fao LadyBirder - vet is going to give him his shots on Monday - she was happy knowing his cough has gone away.

I gave Lola Children's Tixilix, worked fine with her when she had KC x

Bobbi - I was out of mind - it was absolutely terrible and I had never heard it before. It started about 4 of an afternoon and continued until I got an emergency appointment. I thought he was dying - brought him outside thinking air would help so there I am sitting on a garden outside from about 4am-5am. Hopefully he will never get it again.
