Charity shop came just earlier on and my suite is perfect - you know no marks, etc. However they wouldn't take it cos it sunk a little at the back of one chair where Maxie sits and looks out the window. So there I'm now left with a suite taking up room in the dining room.

Don't know what to do next. Guess it is for the chopping yard - like the rest of it is immaculate - unbelievable. well there ya go.

Is there not another charity shop you could try?
Can you contact a homeless shelter or Salvation Army
put it on freegal collection only
or gumtree
Question Author
mallyh - what does that mean exactly
they are sites where you can put unwanted and wanted items we have got rid of a few things with freegal x
Question Author
I have just looked on gumtree - like looking at other pictures of other suites for sale - some of them definitely are firewood by the condition of them.

google freegal and the town you live
We have loads of local FB groups which are FREE ONLY or COLLECTION ONLY BUT FREE, loads of them! Have a look in your area x
Sell it at the auction in bangor - they will charge 25 to pick that and anything else you want to get rid of and they take it out of your sales.
Google Bangor auctions
Good grief...they sure are fussy if a slightly sinking cushion means its not good enough.
A thought...does your council collect unwanted furniture?
They do and charge £15 for the pleasure.
If its in good nick then JJ can get something for it at auctions in Bangor - I have sold loads of stuff that way - you don't make mega bucks but you get something
I have a load of stuff furniture wise going when we start to move
Question Author
pasta - my local council do pick the furniture up for nothing but it would go to landfill, it is too good for that. I would like some homeless person to enjoy quite good and clean furniture.

sorry JJ that made me laugh I just imagine someone sleeping on your sofa in a shop doorway
Did it have a fire safety certificate or equivalent? Lots of charity shops won't take them unless they have it. That's what I was told when I tried to get them to take my sisters' 3 piece. I ended up breaking it up and taking it to the recycling centre.
Question Author
Ellie - I have joined that site and and can see what people are looking for but I can't anywhere where I can post my suite. can you help there
do you have a community furniture project?
Question Author
yes Clarion - fire retardent - he took pictures and pressed the sunk part of that one chair - I mean Maxie is not heavy so it wasn't heavily sunk. I actually plumped it up last night and it plumped quite quick but your man noticed.

Tell you what - if furniture has to be so good for a Action Cancer - that's where I'll be buying my furniture in future - since it should be in good nick.
