Is Anyone Concerned About Walking Their Dog On Hot Pavements In This Heat?
37 Answers
Two friends of mine have very kindly offered to walk my little dog on their way home from work on Friday when the temperature is forecast to be 25 degrees with a moderate breeze. I am thinking I might have to call it off as surely that is too hot for his little feet. If it was all on grass it would be OK but it can't be.
All opinions welcome and thank you.

No dog died from not being walked but dogs have died from heat exhaustion

The pavements may not be so hot Lady. The forecast temperatures are due to hot air from Spain and Purtugal moving north. I don't think that there is going to be a lot of blazing sunshine, which does heat the pavements and roads to high temperatures. The forecasts all point to a lot of cloud cover. Can he skateboard, that would be a solution? :))
Wolf I bought J a raincoat. It made him very happy as he managed to destroy it in 5 minutes.
Trouble here there is no shade until we get to the park Sam.
RH these people are kindly offering when they have the time as they both work so I might have to cancel it. J does not like the water. If his ball goes in the sea he would rather lose it than go in and get it LOL!
Togo love that picture, my daughter has an English Bulldog and a scooter and they like to ride on it together. Just outside the flats of course.
I'm afraid the temperature in B&H is forecast very hot and sunny all Friday afternoon. He'll have his early morning walk with his walker so all is not lost and I could take him out when it's cooler later. So all good in the hood;-)

When I was a kid, dogs were dogs and ate the left-overs from our plates, with the occasional half-tin of Chappie. They were lovely and tough as old boots, because they were all mongrels (testament to the virtues of no in-breeding).
We never had to worry about their paws. If the pavement was too hot they would have skipped about and then jumped onto the lawn (well, not lawn, but scratty grass where the chickens used to scratch about.)
I know, it's different now. I wish no harm to the generation Z dogs, but they do seem to be treated like little babies.
