Skin irritation after swimming

I've just started swimming in a different pool and after only one visit found my legs & other parts of my skin itching & burning like crazy. I did shower immediately afterwards and added moisturing cream to my legs but am wondering now whether it's a reaction to some chemicals in the water and whether I'll react like this every time. Does anybody else suffer this problem and if so, how do they cure it?

I had to give up going to the swimming pool Wendy as I also ended up with a burning itchy mass of red lumps. Not once but every time. Not much help I know, but at least you know you're not the only one.
Sounds like they have added to much chlorine to the water, ask them about this.
