chinchilla noises

i used to have a chinchilla and out of nowhere she satrted squorking, me and my bf couldnt work out why she was doing it and didnt know if she was in pain, the squorks were very loud. has anyone ever had a chinchilla and know anything about them, my bf said it could be a mating sound?

I just did a search for 'what noise does a chinchilla make' and there were loads of sites come up, some that have a 'sound' button you can listen to! Too many to list here so I suggest you do a search.

When i had a chinchilla he used to make squorking noises all the time especially at night. Then i got another one and even though they weren't in the same cage and couldn't see each other they both squorked alot but not to each other.?
