Hi
I am just setting up a large aquarium and have a deep layer of sand on the bottom. I have bought a lot of potted plants and would like to know if I should plant in the pots or without and the reason please. The 2 guys at the shop gave me opposite answers with no real reason so I would be very grateful for some advise from (the ever amazingly helpful) guys ands gals on answer bank!!!!!

I would personally remove the pot. By keeping the pot in place, you might restrict the growth a bit although they will eventually root through the bottom.
What lighting, filteration, substrate and CO2 are you using. There's a very good forum http://aquatic.uk-life.org.uk/ which will help with many of your questions...there's some good plant experts on there too.
