I have a 7 month old puppy, who gets really excited when visitors come to our house. What can i do to make her calm down she won't listen to any commands when there are other people around and will bite and jump at them to get their attention and won't stop even when she has their attention. I'm trying to sell my house at the moment and i don't think prospective buyers will want my dog biting and jumping at them.

Little coojy could you tell me roughly how much they charge for there consultation please as my local behavourist is away untill monday and I don't have a clue how much this sort of thing costs. Thanks in advance :-)
You can do the training yourself but it does require you having someone as the guinea pig. She's still young so she should learn quick.
Basically she should learn that she only gets attention when she sits calmly. So train the sit and treat. Then ask you friend to come and have you dog as far away from the front door as poss and then ask your friend to come in. You have to have your pups attention all the time and make sure she keeps sitting. Praise her lots and lots and treat her for every good behaviour and for bad behaviour start over again.
On another note you also need to teach her that biting and jumping up is wrong. So whenever she does it stand up and turn your back to her and ignore her. And do not give her any attention until she has calmed down.
I had the same problem when out walking that my pup woudl get so excited over anyone walking past and I trained her to do the sit and focus on me and now she's not really bothered. If anyone wants to come and say hello to her I make sure she sits first so she understands good behaviour means attention and rewards. Alos means the person wanting to say hello doesn't get scratched by her jumping up.
