why is bird poo white?

Is there anything I can feed them to make the ones in the back garden poo brown to match the decking and the ones at the front poo black to match my car :-) ??

Hold on 'til the autumn when they've been on the berries. It'll come out purple, but it's a happy medium between brown and black.

Talking of berries - it drives me nuts when our Elderberry tree has lots of berries on it! The birds always seem to quirt purple droppings over the sheets & duvets - never on anything small!

My husband trimmed it down somewhat a month ago, so hopefully this year it won't be so bad!

The white is high in ammonia and is basicaly the urine waste - which is why it stains/marks so easily. 'Solid waste' is is the darker mass.
