What can we call our (soon to be) dog?
6 Answers
We are hoping to get a dog from an animal shelter soon. She is called Kiri at the moment but we don't really like that name. She is only 9 months old so doesn't answer to any name at the moment! She is a greyhound/german shepherd cross. She is a lovely deep cream/gold colour and her tail falls in an L or J shape depending on which way you look at it so we fancied calling her a name beginning with J or L. I thought of Layla but you guys seem pretty smart so any suggestions?? Something doggy but different xx

they have a great list of names alphabetically. You could see which name she looks like. You will probably know when you see a name straight away.
Good luck with your doggy adoption hope it all goes really well.
I adopted a cat from a rescue centre 8 years ago she was found in a dustbin. Her name is Binnie!!

Make it something short & snappy, dog's learn them quicker. The best sheep dogs are always called short bnames; Gyp, Fly, Pup, Kip are some that spring to mind. Our spaniel answers to Raq & picked it up quick as did all the others Raq (yes another one) & Chil. Call her by name before you feed her, she'll soon respond. Good luck with her.
Thanks guys, I really hope we do get her, the people at the animal shelter are really unfriendly and too strict about who gets a dog. We have spent over 100 putting up fences and we don't even know if we will get her yet! It will be worth it if we do though, I can't wait!! Thanks for your tips and advise, that one about short names is interesting. xxx
